We are located
a mile high in the scenic Ochoco mountains about thirty-five miles
northeast of Prineville, Oregon. Weather permitting; the mines will
be open mid May through mid November Come on up and visit us at the mines this Summer if you'll be in the area. We hope you can make it to dig, or just pick off the pills out in front of the mines, or just come up to say hi and have a cup of coffee and talk rock. The eggs contain mosses, banded agate, fortification, plumes and
geodes. The fees we charge are based on the weight of the mined
products. Leonard Kopcinski (Kop) is the owner. Both mines have
been open to the public for over fifty years. Both mines are also
for sale.
daily from 8 am till 5 pm, closed Tuesday and Wednesday. While at
the mines we think you'll have a great time and a great learning
experience. For the serious rock hounds, after a day of digging
lots of eggs (for only $1.00 a pound), free camping, water and an
outhouse is available.
